Refferal Screening and Intake

Referrals to The Barraud House program can be made by social services agencies, mental health agencies, individual practitioners, treatment facilities, and Department of Juvenile Justice. Prior to a decision to admit, referral information is gathered, reviewed by the in-house admissions committee and a pre-admission visit is scheduled for a face-to-face interview. After these steps have been taken, a decision to admit is made and the referral source is notified of acceptance. At this point, an admission time and date is arranged.

Ideally, admissions to The Barraud House program occur Monday thru Friday during normal business hours 9:00am to 5:00pm to allow for smooth transition and minimal disruption. After hours admission can be negotiated with the Foster Parent.
