Program Description
The Barraud House program is designed to provide specialized programming for male adolescents who may be
under-socialized, highly oppositional, or otherwise in need of the controls and services of a staff secure setting. The
program serves males between the ages of 12 – 18 years who have manifested significant conduct difficulties as
juveniles.

Programming is designed to promote adaptive behaviors, which can be practiced, evaluated, reinforced, and
modified to meet the needs of each resident.

Admission Criteria

  • Males between the ages of 12 and 18.
  • Juveniles who need a high degree of structure, support, and supervision.
  • Juveniles with undeveloped social skills and poor academic performance.
  • Family conflict and high-risk behaviors.
  • Determine to have a full scale IQ of 70 or higher.
Services Provided
  • Emergency/Temporary placement services.
  • Diagnostic assessment of functioning to assist with determining a client’s needs, development of treatment
  • recommendations and service planning.
  • Individual and group counseling which addresses the social behavior that has lead to aggressive and delinquent behavior.
  • Anger management and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Family consultations for all families willing to participate.
  • Cognitive-behavioral strategies designed to inhibit violent behaviors.
